
Hastelloy C-2000 Nickel Alloy
Hastelloy C-2000 (UNS N06200) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloy, where copper addition significantly enhances resistance to reducing media like sulfuric acid, while high chromium content (23%) improves oxidation resistance. It excels in resisting pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, widely used in chemical processing, FGD, and hydrometallurgy.

Hastelloy C-2000 is a high-performance nickel-based alloy specifically engineered to resist a wide range of corrosive agents, including hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and others. Unlike earlier Ni-Cr-Mo alloys that offered resistance in either oxidizing or reducing environments, C-2000 delivers excellent corrosion resistance in both. The combination of molybdenum (16%) and copper (1.6%) enhances its performance in reducing environments, while a high chromium content (23% by weight) ensures strong resistance to oxidizing media.
Hastelloy C-2000 is widely used in the following applications and components:
1.Chemical industry for the manufacturing of springs, fasteners, pump shafts, and agitator shafts;
2.Plate and tubular heat exchangers, sulfur dichloride cooling towers, and other heat transfer equipment;
3.Corrosive environments involving acid leaching, pickling systems, phosphoric acid production, and carbide processing units.
